On moving day we will come to your door, wrap your furniture in blankets, and move all your belongings carefully and efficiently

to your new home, taking care to place everything where you would like it.

Our Service Area. We serve most of Los Angeles, from Malibu and Woodland Hills in the west, Van Nuys and La Crescenta in the north, Arcadia and Alhambra in the east, down to Cerritos and Seal Beach in northern Orange County.

Start times. We start the first move of the day at 8 am. If you want your move to start later, then it will be following another job and we cannot give you a definite starting time, which can be anytime from 11 am to 5 pm.


Insurance. Our liability for the cargo – the belongings which we are moving for you – is limited, as set by California law. Please see the Valuation page for more details.


Packing small items in boxes. We provide packing services, which are best done the day before the move. Otherwise, we assume that all your small and fragile items are packed and ready before the movers arrive. If you need us to provide packing materials the day of the move, please let us know.


Wardrobe boxes. We provide wardrobe boxes for your hanging clothes. Their use is free of charge for that one day only. If you would like to keep them, you are welcome to buy them for the usual charge.


Our trucks. Most of our trucks are 35 ft long with a 26 ft box. This is as large as a truck can be without being a tractor-trailer. Our smaller truck, which can be useful in parts of the city where access is difficult, has a 15 ft box and is not as tall. Its capacity is only about 1/3 of the capacity of the larger trucks.


Without our customers we would be nothing, so after the move we want you to feel glad you called us. If for any reason you are not happy at the end of the move, we want to hear about it, so please do not hesitate to call or send us an email so that we can do everything we can to set things straight.

How we charge for local moves



We charge $102 an hour for 2 men with 1 truck. $42 an hour for each additional man.

​ The hourly rate starts when we reach your door and continues until work is finished at the destination. If this total time (including loading, unloading and the time spent driving between the loading site and the destination) is less than two hours, it is rounded up to two hours.


We add trip charge to each job. This means that the minimum charge for 2 men with a truck is $306 (which covers 2 hours’ work). This minimum increases in proportion to the hourly rate, so the minimum charge for 3 men with a truck is $432, also for 2 hours of work. . The trip charge is never less than one hour, but if you are moving more than forty miles from our office then it may be increased to take that into account. This will be specified at the time the job is booked.


Moves where no truck is needed… the rate is $95 for a two man crew and $42 for each additional man. The hourly rate starts when we reach your door, and we have the same two hour minimum, to which we add a Trip Charge of no less than one hour at the prevailing hourly rate. This means the minimum charge for 2 men without a truck (for up to 2 hours of work) is $285.


Packing jobs… The hourly rate for packing labor is just $95 for 2 packers and $42 for each additional person. There is a two hour working minimum and also a one hour Trip Charge. The minimum charges for packing labor are the same as for moves with no truck.

We charge for the cartons and packing materials that we use to protect your belongings. Please refer to the section “Boxes and Materials” to see our prices.

VALUATION



Before the move, we ask you to specify how much your belongings are worth. This is in accordance with California state regulations which every licensed moving company must follow. This will affect how much you can claim if anything is lost or damaged, and you will pay a valuation charge based on the amount you declare.


You can then choose between:

● “Actual Cash Value” which covers items for up to their current value, taking into account their age and condition.

We charge $8 per $1,000 value for this coverage.

● “Full Value Protection” which covers your belongings up to the cost of replacing them brand new from a store.

We charge $16 per $1,000 value for this coverage.


● You also have the option of stating that your belongings are worth no more than sixty cents per pound per article, which means that you are stating they have almost no real value. There is no charge for this option, but it means you can claim very little in the event of a loss.

This last option is the level set by state regulations and is the basic coverage offered by all moving companies.


If more than $50,000 valuation is needed, please let us know at least three working days before the moving date. Any items with a value of more than 10% of your total valuation should be listed on the form “items of Special Value”. This will ensure that they are properly covered and alert us to items needing particular attention.
